Welcome To The Intermediates, Rooms 1 & 6
The intermediate room is a gateway between speaking and writing. In their beginning years the children have an explosion of language. Our Teachers provide an expansion of language through the fundamentals of writing skills, beginning with such simple methods such as exercising their fine motor skills through manipulative play (i.e play dough enabling them to develop the dexterity to hold a pencil and write their own name). They also learn the sounds of the alphabet well enough to start putting letters together forming their first reading words. The sense of pride the children get when they learn to write and read their name is priceless. It gives them so much more then just the ability to read. We also build storybook books, hand print books, and incorporate numbers, fun with music & movement and cooking on a weekly basis.
In room 1, we love to do lots of fun hands-on projects to show off each child's creativity and growth! Then we explore the ocean blue together by following her friends maps they created and learning about different creature along the way! Then when we need reboot our energy we pick a great song to sing and dance the day away to!
In room 6, we love to dance to start the class off with her favorite song...Bop Til You Drop! Inside and outside we love to explore various science aspects from bugs to experiments! They work together to explore and learn about various things. Going on a bug hunt is what they like the best, what will they find next?!
